UKCA Mark
The UKCA stands for the UK Conformity Assessment mark. It is the latest UK product marking rule that will be required for certain products of Great Britain that includes England, Wales, and Scotland. However, it covers a lot of products that previously required the CE mark. On the other hand, UKCA Marking will not be recognized in the EU market. EU Products still require CE marking in order to sell in the EU.
Moreover, the UKCA came into force on January 1 2021 once the Brexit transition period ended. But CE marking will continue to be recognized in the UK until the end of 2021, as long as the UK and EU regulations remain aligned. However, from the start of 2022 only products with UKCA marking will be accepted in Great Britain. Therefore, the products that previously require CE marking will need to have a UKCA mark in order to be sold on the UK market.
UKCA Marking:
These are the areas listed below are covered by the UKCA marking:
- Toy safety
- Recreational craft and personal watercraft
- Simple pressure vessels
- Electromagnetic compatibility

- Measuring instruments

- ATEX
- Radio equipment

- Machinery
- Equipment for use outdoors

- Restriction of hazardous substances.
Conclusion:
The withdrawal of the UK from the European Union has changed the product marking rule in Great Britain and the EU. Now the products that previously require CE marking will need to have the new UKCA MARKING to be able to be sold in the UK market. In contrast, EU Products still require CE marking to be sold in the EU market.
